STYLING
A striking piece with every item a work of art in its own right.
Each piece of bodywork undergoes a rigorous development process. After thoughtful design using foam, fiberglass and computer models to ensure the lines are just right, files are sent to CNC machines where precise molds are cut from solid blocks of billet aluminum. After hundreds of hours of hand polishing, these aluminum molds become the tools for the precise lay-up of multiple layers of carbon fiber. Carbon Fiber that’s transformed into beautiful, extremely light, puncture-resistant bodywork.
Once painstakingly polished, by hand, aluminum tools ensure the highest level of consistency for every carbon–fiber Heretic body part.
To keep The Heretic’s weight to a nimble 452 lbs., every piece of bodywork is meticulously handcrafted from carbon fiber. The gas tank is intertwined with a complex matrix of varying layers of carbon fiber, Kevlar and fiberglass to ensure “crushability” while retaining fluids. In the event of impact, Kevlar and fiberglass help dissipate the energy, thus eliminating a serious, costly crack effect down the entire tank.
The remaining bodywork — headlight housing, tail section, both fenders, tach shroud and seat pans — is hand formed from three layers of carbon fiber. Finally, each piece is
hand painted with numerous clear coats to highlight the exotic material as well as protect against UV damage.
